Ohau, New Zealand

Some would say that you haven't truly snowboarded in New Zealand until you have spent a day at Ohau Ski Area and a night at the Ohau Lodge. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, about half way between Queenstown and Christchurch, most people make the mistake of only visiting Ohau for a day en-route between other resorts. The views alone here are amazing with Mount Cook, NZ's highest mountain, in sight all around the area. This internationally renowned snowboarders resort offers some excellent riding for all levels on amazingly crowd free slopes with a fair share of good powder days. Riders come here because they know that this place cuts it, without any hype of bull shit, just a damn fine mountain that will please hardcore freeriders with a good choice of steeps.
